Inferring Land Conditions in the Tumen River Basin by Trend Analysis Based on Satellite Imagery and Geoinformation

چکیده
The aim of this study was to map the land condition within area Tumen River Basin (TRB), located on Sino–North Korean border, using trend analysis environmental factors. normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and surface temperature (LST) trends over past 30 years were analyzed identify areas that have undergone degradation, restoration, and/or a transition. Landsat NDVI LST obtained Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Erosion also gauged same period Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE). Our results showed only 0.3% TRB underwent change can be characterized as statistically significant period. We therefore infer degradation may not major concern in area. Areas with upward soil loss accounted for 0.8% basin’s footprint mainly distributed upstream North Korea. However, more than 80% found suffering from water stress, 10% these most downstream.

Introduction: Climate change and human activities have a direct impact on land vegetation. Decreased rainfall and increased temperature are among the climate change factors leading to significant changes in water resources and energy balance in affected areas. On the other hand, human activities such as growing population, overgrazing and land use changes that make change in land conditions, al...

One of the most important problems facing desert areas today is the growing trend of desertification and land use change. Land use is a special use of man from the earth. These uses are changing over time and these changes lead to increased land degradation and ecosystem destruction, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. Accordingly, in this research, the trend of land use change in the eas...
